Relaxing Day at the Neighborhood Pool

Morgan had a day off school today so we hung around the house and watched Katie Couric's final hoorah on the Today show. Afterwards I had to finish writing a feature story for a TV show and then Morgan and I hit the pool in our neighborhood. It was HOT outside, so the pool felt very good. There weren't many people at the pool today, which makes things even nicer. Morgan goes back to school tomorrow until 11:30 and then again on Friday until 10:00. I'll be so glad when school is over...no more driving her across the Causeway for 7:30 a.m. anymore! And guess what tomorrow is...the start of Hurricane season. I AM NOT looking forward to that after the 9 months we just had!

Nanny Mallory's College Graduation

The same day as Morgan's Communion, we had to pack up and head to Mobile for my sister's graduation from Spring Hill College. Mallory received a B.S. in English and Secondary Education on Sunday, May 14, 2006 at an outside ceremony on the "Avenue of Oaks." It was a beautiful day...2 days actually because we had the Baccalaureate Mass on Saturday evening, along with multiple receptions and parties. Those Jesuits sure do know how to throw a party! I think the whole graduation weekend started on Thursday, but unfortunately we only made it for Saturday and Sunday. Congratulations, Mallory! We're very proud of you!!

Morgan's 1st Communion

OK, so now that I've started a blog, I have to catch up on some things. This has been a big year! Morgan made her 1st Communion on May 13, 2006 at St. Francis Xavier Church. She looked absolutely beautiful and we're very proud of her. Her Dad, Maria, Grammy and Grampy all came in town from North Carolina to share in her special day with us. I was very excited that she was able to wear MY 1st Communion veil, so thanks, Mom, for saving it.

I must be nuts!

After constantly reading EVERYONE else's blogs, I've decided to start my own. Of course this blog will not be about me, but about Morgan, since she consumes most of my life. For those of you who don't know Morgan, which is highly impossible since she talks to anyone who listens, she's a crazy, prissy, athletic little girl!

She loves shopping, clothes, shopping, music, shopping, dancing, shopping and eating as much as possible. Did I mention she loves to shop? She's 8-years-old now and people say she looks just like me. She's almost as tall as I am, too, and wears a size 4 shoe! A size 4...I only wear a 7! Hopefully this blog provides all of our friends and family who live out of town a chance to keep up with Morgan. I can't even keep up with her! She's always on the go! BTW, thanks to my best friend Sherry...I stole these pics of Morgan from her blog.
