Pawpaw

Mawmaw & Pawpaw

My grandfather passed away yesterday. I was on my way to work when I got the phone call. Pawpaw had just gotten out of the hospital two days prior but wasn't doing well. Luckily my dad was still in town and was able to visit with him for the past few weeks. If you don't know, my dad comes from a rather large family. My grandparents have been married for 67 years and they have 17 children (my dad is the 2nd oldest). I have about 54 first cousins just on my dad's side. I found out that my grandmother had told Pawpaw it was ok for him to go and that she would be ok. About 20 minutes later, he took his last breath. It was a hard day for all of us. Please keep my family in your prayers.

Thanks for all of your prayers and support. Pawpaw was buried yesterday and received a military salute. Some Navy Honor Guards were there to present the American Flag to my grandmother while one played Taps in the background. Very touching and very beautiful. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your grandfather. I hope it is comforting knowing that he is in a better place and no longer ill, that got me through my Dad's passing last year. My prayers are with you and your family.

Gene and I would like to thank you all for all of your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. it is a blessing to know that dad is in a better place and he would not have wanted to live if he could not be somewhere building or fixing something. We miss him very much.
